Looking for a new fundraising challenge? On 5th July 2023 the NHS celebrates its 75th birthday and communities across the country are coming together to join the NHS 1000 miles challenge to mark the occasion.
You can get involved and help funds for Newcastle Hospitals Charity, supporting our work to make a positive impact at Newcastle Hospitals. You can see some examples of our impact here.
Plus, get a free pin badge for taking part!
What is the NHS 1000 miles challenge?
Those taking part are asked to walk, run, swim or cycle (or a combination) the distance of 1,000 miles by the end of 2023. #NHS1000 miles is completely free and is open to everyone!
How can you get involved?
❤️ You can get started on your challenge by setting up a fundraising page, which you can do here.
❤️ Participants are encouraged to keep a record of their weekly miles and are invited to share their progress on Twitter on Sunday nights at 7.30pm using the hashtag #NHS1000miles. Don’t forget to tag us using @Newcastle_NHS.
❤️ You can also join a dedicated NHS1000 miles Strava group, which makes it easy to track your miles and to see how fellow NHS1000 mile participants are doing.
❤️ Then, you just need to get out there. Get your steps in and enjoy the benefits of physical activity, knowing that you’re celebrating the NHS birthday with some valuable fundraising – thank you!
