A key part of Newcastle Hospitals Charity, our arts programme aims to enhance the wellbeing and recovery of patients and staff across Newcastle Hospitals.
The programme, headed up by our Arts Programme Manager Katie Hickman, supports a range of projects across all mediums, helping to engage patients and communities in the work of the hospitals and support the mental health and wellbeing of NHS staff.

Our National Health Stories
‘Our National Stories’ is an exciting UK-wide arts initiative celebrating 75 years of the NHS. The project aims to paint a portrait of the NHS through the eyes of its people. The organisation’s essential and powerful impact through the eyes of those that make it! Those who know!
To open a window into the NHS through often unheard perspectives and experiences and to celebrate the often unseen.
We are looking for stories written by Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust staff that could go on to represent our region and be included in a national November celebration event, which will involve contributions from across 19 NHS Trusts.
Find out more on the Our National Health Stories webpage.
Springbank Pavilion – centrally located in Newcastle’s Leazes Park – is an arts hub that will host creative workshops onsite, alongside delivery of a programme of in-hospital creative activities at Newcastle Hospitals.
Find out more about this programme on the Springbank Pavilion webpage.
