Our charity places for the Junior and Mini Great North Run 2027 are now sold out!

If you’ve already got your own place through Great Run, you can still support Newcastle Hospitals Charity by signing up as an own place runner.

The Junior and Mini Great North Run takes place on closed roads around the Newcastle – Gateshead Quayside, making it a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Mini runners (ages 3-8 years old) take on a 1.2km dash. Junior runners (ages 9-16 years old) will tackle a 4km challenge. It’s your chance to take on the course, soak up the famous Great North atmosphere, and discover your superpower.

We’d love for you to join TeamNHC and fundraise to make a positive difference for the patients, staff, and communities of Newcastle Hospitals.

As part of our Team, you’ll receive:

• A digital fundraising pack bursting with fundraising tips and tricks
• A free charity t-shirt for your child
• A well-deserved hero’s welcome from our Team. We’ll be on the Quayside on the day to cheer you on.

Mini runners (age 3-8) must be accompanied by an adult around the course. Junior runners (age 9-16) have the option of running by themselves, or with an adult. Accompanying adults who are running are required to wear the specific accompanying adult bib, which is attached to the child’s run number.

Oliver Waller, the great nephew of Sir Bobby Robson ran this year’s Junior Great North Run for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation – raising money in memory of Sir Bobby Robson and to support the work of the foundation.
