An exciting new project called ‘Nattering with the NHS’ is launching this month to give young people an insight into careers within the NHS and the opportunity to chat with professionals throughout the organisation.
Designed and developed by the Young Persons Advisory Group North England (YPAGne), which is supported by the Great North Children’s Hospital Foundation (part of Newcastle Hospitals Charity), this is a completely youth led project born out of a need for work experience during COVID-19 and the appetite of young people to engage with people working in the NHS.
Jo Ball, Young Person’s Advisory Group Coordinator:
“Covid-19 has halted work experience for young people at a time it is needed more than ever. The Young Person’s Advisory Group North England have launched Nattering with the NHS with the aim of providing young people aged 11 and older the opportunity to chat with different professionals in the NHS about their roles to help identify what field they would like to go into by exploring options. We are really excited for the project to get started and would love to share the opportunity with any young people who might be interested”.
The first episode going live on 26th May at 5:30pm features Daniel Fabian, Research Nurse at the GNCH and can be accessed here.
