Job description
This role plays a key part in delivering the ambitious Charity strategy, linking the hospital charity, NHS staff members, and the local community.
You will set an example of excellent supporter care (both internal and external) and ensure supporter queries which arise are dealt with in a timely, pleasant and professional manner.
You’ll assist in the planning, management and implementation of fundraising events including Great North Run, which is a key event in our calendar.
You will deliver exceptional donor stewardship that meaningfully connects with supporters, developing a strong thank you process. Excellent administration skills are key to this role, along with the ability to connect with people on a very personal level, and with compassion.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, management, organisation and implementation of fundraising events. Including management of Great North Run.
- Facilitating fundraising activities by providing support/advice to members of staff/general public ensuring procedures are observed.
- Working closely with NHS staff to raise the profile of the Charity with a view to maximising fundraising/income opportunities and ensure procedures are observed.
- Handling public enquiries and fundraising requests to support and guide fundraisers in line with protocols/procedures adopted by the Charity.
- Support and deliver an annual programme of fundraising for Newcastle Hospitals Charity. Including but not limited to corporate partnerships; community fundraising; events; trusts; legacy giving and individual giving.
- Management and promotion of collecting tins/buckets and associated fundraising aids.
- Assisting in the production of acknowledgement letters to donors/fundraisers and maintaining accurate records related therewith.
- Undertake other administrative, clerical and secretarial duties as required. This includes responding to enquiries, processing paperwork associated with fundraising enquiries, photocopying/scanning and filing
