Fundraising

The Foundation raises funds in many different ways including the ones listed below. If you’re keen to support us, talk to our friendly fundraising team who can talk to you about the how to get involved. Thousands of people have donated to our campaigns for many different reasons, but they all have one goal in common, to improve care and treatment for the people of the North East and Cumbria living with cancer.

Legacies

Leaving a bequest to the Foundation in your will is a way of honouring a loved one – a partner, family member or friend perhaps, who has experienced cancer during their life.

We are extremely grateful to receive every level of donation. You can be assured that your legacy will support the global research effort into cancer.

Philanthropic donations

The Foundation is fortunate to benefit from large donations from individuals who are passionate about making a difference and helping others. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.

Community fundraising

Our communities are the ‘engine room’ of the Foundation. Committed volunteers who wish to make a difference, they are passionate and often in it for the long term. These fundraisers will bake, enter the Great North Run, swim, walk, cycle, accept challenges or just simply donate.

They will galvanise their colleagues, friends and families to sponsor them, take part with them, or simply cheer them on.

Corporate supporters

Are you a business with a strong ethical and social aspect to how you transact with your staff, customers and wider stakeholders? The Foundation receives generous support from businesses just like this who are passionate about helping people in their region.

They’re a great way of motivating your staff and fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Campaigns

Newcastle Hospitals Charity run annual campaigns that highlight a particular issue or event allowing people to fundraise with purpose. The Great North Run attracts many people who run to raise funds for us. We also run one-off campaigns where we have a particular goal. The building of The Sir Bobby Robson Institute is the largest fundraising project the Foundation has ever had.
