The Great North Run is a very special event and Sir Bobby was proud to officially start the race on two occasions.
Many people choose to run in memory of a loved one. Or to say thank you for cancer treatment they have received. Or simply as a challenge to get a little bit fitter. Whatever your reasons for wanting to take part, please consider running for our Foundation.
Each year, we have a limited number of charity places available for Great North Run and runners are asked to cover a registration fee and pledge to raise £250 in sponsorship. If you already have a Great North Run place and would like to raise funds for us, please get in touch.

Whether you’re dressed as a gorilla, adorned in your football’s team’s colours, or running in a flamingo costume, your support will help us continue the work Sir Bobby began when he launched our Foundation, finding more effective ways to detect and treat cancer.
