When can you apply?
Applications can be submitted to the charity throughout the year and will be considered on a ‘rolling’ basis – there are no deadlines and the Charity Committee consider proposals eight times a year.
If your idea or project will require funding of more than £5,000 before you submit please contact the funding and partnerships team on [email protected] or 0191 213 7235. This will hep the charity to provide early advice on whether a project is viable and may save the time and effort of those seeking funding where a project does not meet the eligibility criteria.
How do you apply?
We understand that many of the staff who submit proposals for funding are involved in clinical work, and all are busy. The process seeks to make submitting a proposal proportionate with clear timescales for providing a decision.
Proposals for funding must be submitted on the charity’s online application portal which accessed by members of trust staff utilising their nhs.net email address.
What information will you need to provide?
The charity funding online form will guide you through what information you will need to provide, which is as follows:
- Whether the proposal relates to a designated fund available to the charity, or to any fundraising that has taken place
- Summary – an overview of the proposal including when it will commence and for how long
- Impact – details of what difference you hope the proposal will make
- Eligibility – how the proposal fits with the charity’s funding criteria and why it will add (not replace) to what the trust must provide as a core responsibility
- Evaluation – how you will try to measure whether the funded activity has made the difference you are hoping for
- Project partnership – how you can best work together with the charity costs
- The sustainability of the proposal – a description of what will happen at the end of the funded period
It is also useful to include:
- Any quotes or additional information can be attached to the proposal before submission.
