Newcastle Hospitals Charity exists to add to and enhance the care and services provided by The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The charity receives incredible support from patients, families, staff and local communities to help raise millions of pounds every year. As a result, the charity can continue to encourage staff as well as a number of external partners to apply for funding to deliver their ideas for projects to help the hospitals go further.
We are focused on working as closely as we can with staff from every part of the Trust to understand what is needed, and how the charity can then help fund projects that go above and beyond what NHS funding is able to provide.
In order to do this, we have effective and accessible funding programmes which are available to all Newcastle Hospitals staff members. We fund hundreds of proposals every year ranging from £50 through to hundreds of thousands of pounds. This funding is available to every team member at the Newcastle hospitals from technicians to surgeons and porters to specialist nurses.
If you’re a member of staff at Newcastle Hospitals and you’ve got an idea you’d like funding for which fits with our funding framework, then we would love to hear from you.
This guidance supports the information on our website about how you can turn your idea into reality. The charity has a funding and partnership team who would be only too happy to have an informal discussion about your ideas – so if you have an idea about how to help the hospital to go further – we’re waiting to hear from you.
You can contact the team on [email protected] or 0191 213 7235.
