Newcastle Hospitals Charity (NHC) receives incredible support from patients, families, hospital staff and local communities who help to raise millions of pounds every year. The mission of NHC is to use the funding raised to “go further for our hospitals”:
- Improving the patient and visitor experience, enhancing care for patients and the wider community
- Improving staff health, wellbeing and development
- Tackling health inequalities for the region and nationally, through projects and initiatives which reduce the variation in health inequalities
- Delivering volunteering and arts across the Trust
We work as closely as we can with staff from every part of the trust to understand what is needed, and how the charity can then help fund projects that go above and beyond what NHS funding is able to provide. We fund hundreds of proposals every year ranging from those requiring less than a hundred pounds through to equipment costing hundreds of thousands of pounds. Ideas and projects are submitted from a wide range of staff – from technicians to surgeons and from domestic staff to specialist nurses.
If you’re a member of staff at Newcastle Hospitals and you’ve got an idea you’d like funding for, then NHC want to hear from you.
This guidance supports the information on our website about how you may be able to turn your idea into reality. The charity has a funding and partnership team who can have an informal discussion about your ideas. If you have an idea about how to help the hospital to go further – we’re waiting to hear from you!
