Outlands, a North East cycling group based in Chester-le-Steet, is supporting Newcastle Hospitals Charity this festive season and beyond by riding for 24 hours.
Outlands 24 is a 1,200 mile fundraiser, the equivalent distance of Newcastle to Paris and back, taking place on Thursday 28 December from 10am.
Community Fitness in Chester-le-Street is hosting the fundraiser. The facility will have ten indoor bikes that can be used at any one time, but participants are being urged to book in advance to avoid missing out.
The aim is to raise £3,000 to support the cycling club in 2024, with the person raising the most funds by New Year’s Day getting a free pair of sunglasses.
Anything else raised beyond that amount will go to the charity supporting patients and staff at Newcastle Hospitals.
Dan Stephenson, Outlands’ founder, said: “Outlands are proud to be working together with Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
“We wanted to work with a charity who have a big impact on our community.
“Helping Newcastle Hospitals Charity raise awareness and funds to support the health and wellbeing of people in our area is extremely important to us.”
