Ambulance Crew members Karl, Anthony, Jason and Chelsea will soon be leaving the blue lights behind (temporarily!) to tackle the gruelling National Three Peaks Challenge, in loving memory of their colleague Shawn.
These group will be setting off on Thursday 23rd September 2021, with the goal of climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales – Snowdon (Wales), Scafell Pike (England), and Ben Nevis (Scotland) – within 24 hours.
During the challenge, the group will cover a walking distance of 23 miles and a total ascent of 3064 metres. The total driving distance for designated driver Karl is a whopping 462 miles!

In loving Memory of Shawn
This amazing fundraising feat was inspired by the group’s colleague and friend Shawn, who sadly passed away from a rare liver condition and bile duct cancer. They’re jointly fundraising for the Liver Unit at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital, via Newcastle Hospitals Charity, and for Macmillan Cancer Support. Funds will be split equally between the two charities.

How Can I Support Them?
The group are asking for donations to their fundraising via a Just Giving page, set up by Shawn’s son Chris. If you kindly choose to donate, you can do so here.
