On 21st December 2022, Bentley Newcastle delighted patients, staff, and parents alike at Newcastle’s Great North Children’s Hospital (GNCH), by delivering a custom-wrapped Bentley Continental GTC sports car that could be drawn on!
Youngsters, their families, and hospital staff were invited to add their artwork to the car, which was soon adorned with festive artwork, doodles of family members and messages of thanks and well wishes for GNCH.
The event was a combined effort from Bentley Newcastle and Newcastle Hospitals Charity, the official charity for Newcastle Hospitals. Bentley have kindly chosen to raise funds for the Great North Children’s Hospital via Newcastle Hospitals Charity, and bringing the car to GNCH was the first step of this.
The car will now be displayed in their Silverlink showroom for two weeks, alongside collection tubs and a QR code for online donations.

During the special event, Newcastle Hospitals Charity staff Amy Patterson (Communications Officer) and Emma McQuitty (Fundraising Coordinator) were joined by Daniel O’Reilly (Digital Genius) and Sheldon Cockburn (Head of Business) from Bentley Newcastle (pictured below, Daniel R and Sheldon L)
Sheldon said: “We wanted to help take the children’s’ minds off some of the difficult challenges they may be facing over the coming days and months, at what should be a magical time for them. The children were all amazed to see the car and when they found out that they could sign the vehicle their little faces filled with joy!
“It is our privilege to be able to support Newcastle Hospitals Charity and the Great North Children’s Hospital at this special time of year.”
Emma McQuitty, Fundraising Coordinator at Newcastle Hospitals Charity said: “Corporate supporters are so important to help raise funds and awareness, and Bentley Newcastle really have gone above-and-beyond with their kind, creative event today! We are so very grateful to them for their support.”
When the budding artists were finished, Bentley surprised them further by giving them a special Bentley toy model car to take with them to remind them of the day.
