Emer Tumilty is a designer based in Glasgow, who has created a unique, site-specific, art installation in the brand new Staff Bistro, in Leazes Wing at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. The artwork was funded by Newcastle Hospitals Charity, via the Arts Programme.
Emer has worked with feedback from staff on designs and how they would like the space to feel and responded by including elements from nature with representation of flora, hoping to make space for contemplation and respite from the busy day.
With a background in both Architecture and Visual Communication, her work draws inspiration from the built environment and the playfulness of postmodern design. Emer works across a diverse range of projects, from illustration and print design to murals and installations in domestic spaces, retail, and theatre.
