Are you a member of staff working at Newcastle Hospitals Trust who has migrated here from outside of the UK?
Would you be interested in taking part in a creative project that celebrates the strength, resilience and profound contribution of migrants in the UK healthcare sector?
We would like to hear your stories.
Artist John Yayen would like to work with three chosen staff members to create a painting reflecting on their unique journeys and experiences. The completed final painting will be on public display within Newcastle Hospitals.
Through this project and his art, Yayen seeks to bring visibility and recognition to the often-unseen hands and stories of migrant healthcare workers within the UK healthcare system.
To read more about the project and see some of the work Yayen has already completed please visit Yayen’s website here.
To be involved with this project you need to be able to commit to the following:
- One 30 minute video call interview in the last week of March (we aim to be flexible to fit to your availability) with the artist, Yayen, to hear about your stories/experiences.
Please send expressions of interest via email to the Arts Team, on [email protected] by Wednesday 19th March 2025
All expressions of interests (EOI) need to be entered via an nhs.net email address and must come from a current Newcastle Hospitals member of staff. Please title the EOI email ‘Embers of Care EOI’. All EOIs will be entered into an anonymous draw. Those selected will be contacted no later than Thursday 20th March 2025.
Any questions, please contact [email protected]
Best wishes
