Newcastle Hospitals Charity is supporting free fruit bags for staff at Newcastle Hospitals, as part of Nutrition and Hydration Week 2023.
Staff simply need to show their staff ID badge at the RVI or Freeman fruit stalls between 13th – 17th March to claim their free bag of nutritious snacks. There are 60 bags a day at each stall, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Paula Coulson, Senior Nurse in Nutrition and Hydration at Newcastle Hospitals said:
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Newcastle Hospitals Charity for their amazing support during Nutrition and Hydration Week. Supporting the health and wellbeing of staff is hugely important and a key strategic aim within the Trust Food and Drink Strategy.
This support from the Charity has made it simpler for staff to access fresh produce during their working day, and I would like to offer my sincere thanks.”
The fruit stalls at the RVI and Freeman Hospital are firm favourites with hospital staff, patients, and visitors. Newcastle Hospitals Charity also supported the opening of the stand at the Freeman, ensuring that staff, patients. and visitors don’t have to go too far to get their 5-a-day!
This project has been arranged by the Trust’s Nutrition and Hydration team with financial support from Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
