Newcastle Hospitals Charity and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation are entering one of the most exciting and ambitious phases in our history. Together with Newcastle Hospitals, we are building a world‑leading facility, The Sir Bobby Robson Institute, which will transform cancer research and improve the lives of patients across the Northeast and beyond.
Based next to the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital, this incredible new facility will bring together the current Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre and the hospital’s oncology and haematology research teams, creating a united hub for innovation, clinical trials, and hope.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters, over £20 million has already been raised and a major fundraising campaign now underway to secure the final funds needed to complete the project and turn the vision into reality. To help drive this transformative work, we are expanding our team with three new fixed term roles, each playing a vital part in bringing the Sir Bobby Robson Institute to life.
Campaign manager
Help lead the high-profile public fundraising campaign supporting the construction of the Sir Bobby Robson Institute. You’ll help shape campaign strategy, deliver inspiring public engagement activity, and work closely with colleagues across fundraising, clinical research, and the wider charity.
You will:
- Design and deliver campaign plans across multiple channels
- Manage key projects and timelines
- Support high profile fundraising initiatives
- Help share the story and impact of the Sir Bobby Robson Institute
Campaign officer
Support the delivery of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation campaign through hands on coordination, supporter engagement, and high-quality administrative support. You’ll help ensure campaign activity runs smoothly and supporters feel valued throughout their journey.
You will:
- Coordinate campaign events and activities
- Support donor stewardship and community engagement
- Manage enquiries and maintain accurate campaign records
- Work closely with fundraising and communications colleagues
Digital communications officer
Bring the story of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the new Institute to life across digital channels. You’ll create compelling content, manage digital campaigns, and help grow our online presence as we rally supporters behind this vital cause.
You will:
- Produce engaging content for social media, web, and email
- Develop digital storytelling that showcases patient impact and research breakthroughs
- Support paid and organic digital campaigns
- Track analytics to strengthen reach and engagement
