The Amazon fulfilment centre in Durham has donated £3,000 to the Great North Children’s Hospitals Foundation, part of Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
The donation was given to the Children’s Cancer Ward in Great North Children’s Hospital (GNCH).
GNCH is one of the four largest children’s hospitals in the UK. It has special wards, operating theatres, outpatients, day case suites and an A&E department all tailored to children, their families and carers.
Richard Thompson, Site Leader at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Durham, said: “Newcastle Hospitals Charity does a fantastic job in supporting families across the North East and we’re pleased to make this donation on behalf of our team at Amazon in Durham.”
The charity received this donation as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
