Did you know that in 2021/22, we got most of our income from legacies? Legacy planning is a very important and personal decision, and we remain hugely grateful to anyone who chooses to leave a gift to us in their will.

If you’re planning your estate, there are six very good reasons to think about leaving us a gift in your will:

❤️ You can choose exactly what to support, whether that is a particular hospital, a particular ward, or even to a specialised interest like research funding.
❤️ Pledging a gift to us in advance lets us plan our spending more accurately, meaning we can make sure we support the areas that need us most in the hospitals and community, whilst also being able to support larger projects.
❤️ You may pay less tax. Gifts to charities aren’t taxed, plus if you leave at least 10% of your estate to a charitable cause, your inheritance tax rate drops from 40% to 36%.
❤️ You can choose to leave as much or as little as you like, from a fixed sum, to a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after all other beneficiaries and bills are taken care of. It is your choice – even a small amount can make a big difference.
