The Newcastle Hospitals Charity Arts Programme is delighted to support this years Newcastle allotment and garden show.
The show is back in Leazes Park for 2023 and Urban Green Newcastle are bringing growers from across the region together to show off their best produce and will celebrate with a wide range of activities and entertainment for the whole family.
The show is a free family event which is open to the public from 11am on Saturday 16 September. This year’s line-up includes a variety of stalls, local producers and makers, food and drink, live music from local artists, workshops, demonstrations, talks, nature and well-being sessions and family funfair rides.
Our joint initiative with Urban Green Newcastle, Springbank Pavilion, will run sessions on site with a kiln and a celebration of the programme with back-to-back creative sessions to join in throughout the day. Urban Green Newcastle will also be announcing the winners from the Allotment and Garden competition and there will be a chance to take a look at this year’s entries.
There are over 50 classes to enter in this year’s competition, and everyone is welcome to enter as many as they like before entries close on Friday 8 September. The competition judging takes place on Friday 15 September before opening to the public on the Saturday. The day will be jam-packed, giving everyone the chance to admire the fantastic efforts of the entrants, visit stalls celebrating the best in local produce, and get stuck in with fun workshops.
