Our National Health Stories, a six-month creative programme celebrating the 75th anniversary of the NHS, draws to a close on Wednesday 22 November 2023 with an extraordinary day-long series of performances in hospitals across England.
The last six months have seen thousands of NHS staff take part in a nationwide creative engagement programme, sharing their stories and reflecting on what it means to be part of the NHS at this landmark moment in its history. The programme concludes with this unprecedented day of poetry, music, dance and visual art created by NHS staff, telling their stories, in their own words. Over the course of a single day, performances will take place, consecutively at multiple sites in 19 NHS trusts across the nation, including Newcastle Hospitals.
Curated by Kwame Kwei-Armah, and a stellar creative team, this one-off event brings together a multitude of personal stories to create a unique portrait of an organisation through its people – inviting us all to consider and celebrate the profound impact of the NHS on our public life.
You can experience the performances in person at selected sites as well as online. Full details will be announced in early October.
